Nearly 6 million women are protesting a proposed Polish law banning all abortion
 

Women in Poland left schools and workplaces today to protest against a plan to criminalise all abortion – even when the mother’s life is in danger.
At the moment, the country allows abortion but only in very limited circumstances: when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest or if the woman or foetus’s life is under threat.
But a proposed new law is being considered in parliament which would mean women seeking abortions and doctors who perform them could be jailed for up to five years.
