NBA rookie ridiculed after shooting ‘granny style’ underhand free throws

The 19-year-old Houston Rockets prospect debuted the unique shooting style during a pre-season game against the New Orleans Pelicans in China this week.
Stepping up to the line, Onuaku throws the ball underhand – bucking the usual trend to hit a perfect two from two.
The Maryland native switched to shooting free throws “granny” style during his freshman year of college in an effort to remedy his awful track record from the foul line – which at the time stood at 46%.
