National memorial to be dedicated to fallen Merseyside cop Dave Phillips



A Wirral policeman who was killed in the line of duty will be honoured with a memorial more than two years after his death.
PC Dave Phillips was hit by a stolen Mitsubishi pick-up truck in Wallasey while trying to use a stinger device in the early hours of October 5, 2015.
The ceremony, scheduled for midday on Thursday, October 12, will take place in Hamilton Square Gardens, in Birkenhead and will be the first time a Merseyside Police officer has been honoured in this way.
