Nathan Cleverly wins WBA light-heavyweight title five years after first bout was cancelled
 

The Welshman took the title after the German was forced to retire before the start of the seventh round with a dislocated elbow.
Cleverly, 29, became a two-time world champion although the title he won is the secondary WBA belt as Sergey Kovalev – who beat the Welsh fighter in 2013 – is the ‘super’ champion.
But this was unfinished business for Cleverly, who was due to face Braehmer in 2011 for the WBO title before the German pulled out with an eye injury.
The Welshman set a frantic pace in the bout and became the first man to stop Braehmer in 51 fights.
