Mystery buyer found for former Tyrers department store
 

A mystery buyer has agreed to take over the former Tyrers department store in St Helens town centre.
The iconic five-storey building shut its doors for the last time earlier this year after 128 years serving customers in St Helens and beyond.
It was believed to be the last family-run department store on Merseyside, run by the founder’s great-granddaughter Ali Tyrer.

A sign at the Bridge Street store now reads ‘under offer’, with the store lying empty since its closure in January.
