Murder accused pleads not guilty to killing a grandfather found dead in his home
 

Murder accused Daniel Johnson will stand trial next year in connection with the killing of a grandfather in his home.
Johnson, 20, is accused of killing David Wilson, who was found dead in his flat at Southwick, Sunderland, on December 14 2014.
The 49-year-old, a father and grandfather, had been stabbed to death.
Johnson, of Howe Street, Gateshead, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court via video link to HMP Durham on Friday.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.
Mr Justice Globe appeared at the hearing via video link to the Old Bailey in London.
