Mum-of-two battles rare illness after being bitten by a tick in Wollaton Park
 

A mother-of-two who was bitten by a tick while walking her dog in Wollaton Park does not know how long she has left to live after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Heidi Luckraft, of Beeston, was bitten by the tiny spider-like creature four years ago and, as a result, fell ill with the bacterial infection, which can cause neurological damage and crushing fatigue.
If caught early enough, the disease can usually be cured with antibiotics. But Heidi's case went undiagnosed for three years and doctors have now told the 39-year-old that her illness is so advanced it is untreatable.
