Mum of boy with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy praises Coronation Street for featuring rare condition



THE mother of a boy with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy has praised Coronation Street for tackling and giving exposure to the rare genetic condition.
Emma-Jayne Ashley, 35, said that her son, Dregan Turner, 17, had medical problems immediately after birth, but it wasn't until he was nearly 15 that doctors diagnosed him with CMD - a severe, life threatening, neuromuscular condition which affects every organ in the body.
