Multi-million pound plan to save Liverpool’s children’s centres is revealed
 

City leaders have drawn up a multi-million pound rescue plan to save Liverpool’s closure-threatened children’s centres.
Liverpool council last year warned that 10 of its 17 SureStart centres faced the axe due to swingeing government cuts.
The centres were later given a two-year stay of execution , but their long-term future is still not guaranteed.
Now, the council has drawn up a blueprint to explain how they can be kept open from 2017 onwards.
The plan involves the NHS and other organisations, such as housing associations, stumping up around half the annual running costs.
