MPs warned of high tariffs on skimmed milk if no Brexit deal



Skimmed milk exported into the European Union could be hit with a 74% tariff after Brexit if Britain quits the bloc without a new trade deal, an SNP MP has said.
Kirsty Blackman said tariffs would be "an incredible problem" for Britain in a no-deal scenario, as she highlighted specific costs in the food sector.
"There are major issues about tariffs if we leave the single market," said Ms Blackman, the party's economy spokeswoman.
"The EU average tariff on imports from outside the EU was 5.2% in 2014.
