MP John Spellar backs first ever UK strike by McDonald's staff



Black Country MP John Spellar has backed McDonald’s workers staging their first ever strike.
He told a rally of striking workers outside Parliament: “This is a battle that can be won.”
And Mr Spellar, Labour MP for Warley in the Black Country, told the fast-food employees they were fighting not just for themselves “but for other workers in this industry who will be inspired by your example.”
Staff in Cambridge and Crayford, south-east London have walked out in a row over the use of zero-hours contracts and “inexplicably” low pay.
