More passengers using Virgin Trains' cross-border services
 

Virgin Trains has reported a rise in the number of passengers using its cross-border rail services over the last six months.
The company said more than 5,000 extra passengers were travelling on its trains each week between Edinburgh and Newcastle.
It said the 7% growth came after it added 42 new services a week on the East Coast Main Line.
The rail firm has promised to invest £140m to upgrade its coaches.
