Mitie abandons healthcare role for elderly and vulnerable people
 

The FTSE 250 outsourcer, whose operations span cleaning, catering, pest control and immigration services, sounded its second profit warning in two months as it slumped to a £100.4million half-year pre-tax loss compared with a £45.1million profit last time after writing off £117.2million from the value of its healthcare business. 
It is assessing options for the domiciliary healthcare business, including a potential change in ownership, but will continue to operate in “an orderly and responsible manner”.
