Minister: Take care not to buy too much paint
 

Paint-buyers should be better educated about how much of the product they are going to need so that they do not clog up landfill sites with waste, an environment minister has said.
Therese Coffey told MPs that "good people" were purchasing too much of the product, often planning to "touch up" their homes at a later date.
Only 2% of paint was recycled, with much poured down drains, it was added.
Labour's Angela Smith urged ministers to "step up" waste prevention.
