Minister refuses to say if Derby will get cash for clean air zone
 

The Government has refused to reveal whether or not Derby will get money to set up a clean air zone.
This follows concerns from Derby City Council leader Ranjit Banwait that buses, taxis and lorries could face new costs if the city is ordered to clean up its air. He feared costs could be passed on to passengers.
Mr Banwait wrote to the Department for the Environment to say he wanted "robust evidence" that supported the need for a zone, which would see high-polluting vehicles banned from driving into the city centre.
