Metro passengers could aid police as equipment seriously damaged at Wallsend building site
 

Police say Metro-goers might be able to identify people who allegedly broke into a Wallsend building site and seriously damaged an expensive vehicle.
Some time between 10pm on Friday, September 30, and 7am on Saturday, October 1, Northumbria Police say people forced their way through fencing around a building site on Ropery Lane, in North Tyneside.
They are then thought to have damaged an excavator parked on the site, forcing shutters and smashing windows.
Officers say “substantial damage” was caused.
