Merseyside could get a new train station by next year

City region politicians are set to approve the millions of pounds towards the cost of a new railway station in Maghull.
The Liverpool city region combined authority is being asked to back plans for Maghull North.
Proposals for the station have been on the cards for some years and last year a public consultation was held for the proposed new stop on the Ormskirk line.
Now a report to the combined authority, which is due to meet next Friday, October 21, is being asked to give the scheme – with a total cost of £13m – the green light.
