Mersey Bar lightship Planet to be sold to repay owner's debt



Liverpool's Mersey Bar lightship is set to be sold to recover the debt owed by its owner.
The famous red Planet, a familiar sight alongside The Strand for many years, was towed away last month by the Canal & River Trust.
It was seized by the Trust, which manages the country’s waterways, after a long-running dispute over £10,000 in unpaid mooring fees and is now thought to be at Sharpness docks in Gloucester.
