Memory Walk for Alzheimer's in South Shields - record numbers taking part
 

A record number of people will be united against dementia this weekend as the North East stages its biggest ever Memory Walk.
Around 5,000 will gather in South Shields on Saturday to pay tribute to loved ones who have battled the condition and those living with it.
Local MP Emma Lewell Buck will open the event and has a very personal reason to back the worthy cause. Her beloved grandmother, Eleanor Lewell, passed away in 2003, aged 85, after battling dementia.
