McDonald’s staff have walked out today and are striking for the first time
 

McDonald’s staff at two branches have walked out and are striking for the first time since the fast food chain opened in the UK .
Workers from branches in Cambridge and Crayford, in south-east London, are demanding £10 a hour starting salary and more secure working hours in response to McDonald’s using zero-hour contracts.
This strike is the first time McDonald’s workers have walked out on strike since the first restaurant opened in Britain in 1974.
