McDonald's legend who invented iconic Big Mac burger dies aged 98
 

Michael James ’Jim’ Dellligatti who invented the fast food chain’s two-tiered burger died on Monday.
Mr Delligatti, born in 1918, began tinkering around with the store’s burger in the mid-1960s whilst he was running the Uniontown, Pennsylvania franchise.
The burger is one of the chain’s most popular items and sold around the world.
Mr Delligati took the chain’s original basic burger and added another all beef patty, along with lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions onto a sesame seed bun as well as a “special sauce”.
