Mayor vows Liverpool must keep its World Heritage status



Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson has vowed to “reset” the city’s relationship with heritage watchdogs to make sure the city is not stripped of its World Heritage status.
Liverpool is on the list of World Heritage Sites in danger because Unesco is worried about the impact of the proposed Liverpool Waters skyscrapers on the city’s famous waterfront. It almost lost its status this year – but a final decision was deferred until next year.
