Maria Sharapova has doping ban REDUCED after appeal
 

Sharapova, 29, tested positive for meldonium in January - then received a two-year sentence in June.
The International Tennis Federation had ruled that the Russian was “the sole author of her own misfortune.”
But the Court of Arbitration for Sport has shortened the ban from 24 months to 15 months. She will now return on April 26 next year.
The CAS have a record of reducing sentences imposed by ITF panels, having previously cut Marin Cilic and and Viktor Troicki’s bans down.
The Russian claimed she had been taking the drug since 2006 for health problems.
