Marcus Rashford must start up front for England and Wayne Rooney should not play behind him, says Alan Shearer



Alan Shearer believes Marcus Rashford should start for England against Malta on Saturday but Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney should not be playing behind him.
Rashford was among four Manchester United players called up by interim manager Gareth Southgate for the World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia, alongside Rooney, Chris Smalling and cap-less Jesse Lingard.
The 18-year-old striker scored eight goals in all competitions for the Red Devils under Louis van Gaal last season, and has backed that up with four in nine this campaign, with Jose Mourinho at the helm.
