Man punched to the ground during assault in Abington Street in Northampton



A man was punched several times in the head during an assault in Northampton town centre.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was walking with a friend towards Abington Square. His friend carried on walking and he stopped to light a cigarette. While he did so, an unknown man punched him several times in the face causing him to fall.
The incident happened at about 2am on Saturday, September 10.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
