Man perched on fourth floor ledge of Newcastle building sparks police alert



Police and firefighters were called to a busy Newcastle city centre street early on Friday after a man refused to come down from a ledge four floors up.
The man remained perched on the ledge as emergency services waited below.
Office workers arriving at Kelburn House in Mosley Street were allowed to access the building while the street itself remained open to rush hour traffic.
It is understood the man has been on the ledge for a number of hours and police negotiators are continuing to speak to him.
