Man in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in assault in Leicester city centre

Police have today renewed an appeal for witnesses after a man suffered serious stab wounds in an assault in Leicester city centre yesterday evening.
The victim was taken to hospital following the incident in Oxford Street on the Central Ring Road at around 5.40pm.
He was detained overnight and his condition has been described as stable by police this morning.
A section of Oxford Street was cordoned off in the Bonners Lane area following the serious assault as police examined the scene.
The cordon was lifted yesterday evening after forensic experts had completed their examination.
