Man charged after armed siege which lasted for 25-hours in Shaw
 

A man is due in court after police were called to a ‘hostage situation’ in Shaw.
Mark Schofield has been charged with false imprisonment, two counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of serious violence and three counts of assault.
The 30-year-old, of Pemberton Way, Shaw, remains in police custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 28.
Police were called to a house on Pemberton Way in Shaw at 3.15am on Tuesday morning to reports a man with a gun was locked inside.
