Man blows £2,000 holiday spends on roulette machine without telling his girlfriend



A self-confessed gambling addict accused a betting shop of fuelling his habit after losing more than £2,000 of money intended for his holiday.
The gambler, who identified himself to the ECHO but wanted to remain anonymous as he had not told his partner, claimed Betfred failed to follow their own responsible gambling measures.
He said he had lost £2,100 in less than an hour playing roulette on a machine at a Betfred branch in Widnes - spending cash he had planned to swap into foreign currency next door.
