Man battered hedgehog to death with a brick but didn't know why



A Wirral man beat a hedgehog to death with a brick - but couldn’t explain why.
A shocked neighbour saw Liam Aitkin, 24, battering the defenceless creature as he returned home from a dog walk at around 11.30pm on May 12.
She was so horrified she placed the dead hedgehog in a plastic bag and wrote a note to Aitkin, placing both on his car.
Wirral Magistrates Court heard another neighbour, who was heartbroken at the manner of the hedgehog’s death, reported him to the RSPCA.
