Man attacked with tree branch in Newcastle while walking with his pregnant girlfriend
 

An investigation has been launched after a man was attacked with a tree branch in Newcastle while walking with his pregnant girlfriend.
The 31-year-old boyfriend was assaulted at Benton Bank on the walkway up to the Armstrong Bridge in Jesmond.
The incident is said to have happened at around 1.20pm on Saturday, June 17.
During the assault, the man also had his T-shirt ripped.
He didn’t receive any serious injuries during the altercation but the couple were understandably left very shaken, police said.
