Man arrested after nine-hour stand-off on police station roof



A man was arrested by police after a nine hour stand-off on the roof of St Helens police station.
The man was this morning arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, after he allegedly sprayed graffiti on the building, smashed windows and caused damage to police vehicles below.
Police were made aware of a man on the roof of the police station, in College Street, at around 11.30pm on Monday.
A cordon was put in place between College Street and Central Street as emergency services attended the incident including the fire service, North West Ambulance Service and a police force negotiator.... read more
