Lymph vessels that spread cancer can also help destroy tumours



Lymphatic vessels that help cancers spread can also be used to target tumours with new immunotherapy drugs, a study has found.
Many cancers are known to speed up their spread by expanding the lymph system, the network of channels in the body used to transport immune system cells and nutrients.
Scientists had thought that holding back the generation of new lymph vessels, known as lymphangiogenesis, might improve the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapies, which have a chequered record of success.
