Lorry driver jailed for killing young mum was sacked from last HGV job after 3 crashes
 

A Birkenhead lorry driver jailed for killing a young mum was sacked from his previous HGV job after crashing three times.
William Stewart, 25, was convicted of causing Natalie Thorpe’s death by dangerous driving after failing to secure a metal arm on his lorry, which struck and killed her.
Stewart was jailed for four and a half years at Preston Crown Court today after being found guilty by a jury earlier this month.
Judge Heather Lloyd slammed Stewart for failing to make “the most cursory visual checks” before setting out in the Iveco lorry on June 4 last year.
