Look: Denbighshire ploughmen attract new converts - young and old



Vintage enthusiasts staged their 27th annual ploughing match with one eye on the future.
The site chosen by Cymdeithas Hen Dractorau Dyffryn Clwyd, near Denbigh, was big enough to accommodate two new competition events.
One was a mechanical ditching class, the other was a training arena for novices who had never ploughed before.
Four newcomers took advantage of the latter, receiving expert tuition on setting up their ploughs and using them in a competitive environment.
“All four showed good potential and were very keen to plough again,” said society secretary Hefin Jones.
