London drivers face steeper parking tickets and fines as talks begin to raise Penalty Charge Notices by nearly a quarter to £160



Drivers in London issued with a Penalty Charge Notice for parking in the wrong place or failing to pay the Congestion Charge could see fines rise by almost a quarter under new plans proposed by Transport for London.
On Monday, a consultation kicked off to consider increasing penalties from £130 to £160 - a rise of 23 per cent.
Motorists issued with a PCN who pay within 14 days of receiving one will still be eligible for a discounted rate, though this is also set to increase from £65 to £80.
