Liverpool weather: Flood alert issued as heavy rain set to batter Merseyside
 

It looks like the sunny weather may be over with after a flood alert was issued for Merseyside tonight.
The Environment Agency is predicting the Mersey Estuary could overflow at peak tide.
They say areas at risk include Liverpool, New Ferry, Woodside, Ellesmere Port, Runcorn, Widnes and Hale Village.
The next high tide is expected at about 12.05am with the water level at Liverpool Gladstone Dock expected to rise to around 5.3m.
Other places that the agency is warning are likely to be affected are Rock Park, Birkenhead , at 12.15am with an estimated peak tide of 5.75m and then Hale Village... read more
