Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral ransacked and cash taken in raid
 

Raiders ransacked Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral and stole cash from collections in an act of “needless vandalism and damage”.
Two images in glass, which were specially made for the landmark Catholic cathedral, were also smashed “beyond repair” in the burglary in the early hours of this morning.
The burglars forced their way in through a flat roof near the front entrance facing Hope Street, then an interior door.
It was discovered after an intruder alarm was activated at around 2.45am.
