Liverpool Lib Dem leader calls for halt on new artificial football pitches amid safety fears
 

Liverpool’s Lib Dem leader is calling on council chiefs to halt installation of new artificial turf football pitches over fears they could be killers.
The council has approved plans for three new football hubs as part of a £17m deal with the Football Association but is facing increasing opposition over concerns that hey are not safe.
Cllr Richard Kemp, Liberal Democrat leader on Liverpool council, has now written to the city’s Mayor Joe Anderson raising concerns about the pitches and calling for the developments to be halted.
