Liverpool boxer Derry Mathews launches successful disability boxing class
 

Liverpool boxer Derry Mathews has launched a boxing class to help young people and those with disabilities keep fit and build confidence.
The sessions, which take place between 2pm-3pm on Thursdays at Derry’s Gym near Scotland Road, is available to over 16s and attendees include people with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, ADHD, mental health issues and Spina Bifida.
Mathews, a former British and Commonwealth champion, told the ECHO of his pride in the progress his students have made, and of his plans to keep expanding the class further.
