Liverpool airport firefighters tackle blaze as smoke seen billowing close to Easyjet plane



Fire crews are tackling a blaze close to an Easyjet plane at Liverpool airport.
In videos posted by travellers on neighbouring aircraft, they can be seen spraying water behind the plane.
It is believed the blaze broke out at around 6.30pm tonight.
It is not known at this stage whether the plane has recently arrived in the airport or was due for take off, but it appeared to be close to a gate when the fire broke out.
There is no information at present as to whether passengers were on board the plane when the fire, being reported by The Mirror, broke out.
