Live court: Kodi box seller appears before magistrates as Middlesbrough Council makes legal history
 

A Middlesbrough trader is due in court this afternoon after an 18-month investigation into the sale of Kodi TV boxes.
The equipment - also known as Android boxes - allows users to stream subscription content, such as Premier League football and blockbuster films, free of charge.
The boxes themselves aren't illegal, but after its investigation Middlesbrough Council believes selling them ‘pre-loaded’ is.
‘Pre-loading’ an Android or Kodi box means it is sold with the instant capability of accessing material protected by copyright laws.
