Limato to go head-to-head with Tepin in California showdown

July Cup winner Limato will take on US hot-pot Tepin over a mile at next month's Breeders' Cup after trainer Henry Candy decided to go for the longer race rather than the Turf Sprint at Santa Anita.
Limato, last seen when landing the seven-furlong Prix de Le Foret at Chantilly on Arc day, has never won over a mile but was a fair fourth to Belardo in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May when the Candy string was not firing.
The Turf Sprint course at Santa Anita is partially downhill and run off a spur which connects to the main circuit.
