Lifeguards left red-faced as RNLI car sinks on Crosby beach
 

This is the dramatic moment an RNLI vehicle began to sink on Crosby beach on Saturday.
Two lifeguards dug furiously to try and free the vehicle, which eventually had to be rescued by another RNLI crew.
It is thought they first got into difficulty around 4pm and the ordeal went on for a few hours.
Witness Jonathan Miller, 49, told the ECHO: “I was just walking along the beach and saw them struggling. It was something different really as not much happens on Crosby beach.
