Lifeboat comes to the aid of fishing boat



The Newbiggin RNLI lifeboat rescued a stranded vessel in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
After contacting the coastguard when it suffered machinery failure three miles east of Cresswell, the lifeboat was paged at 4.25am to go to the assistance of Solan – a 13m fishing boat.
Three people were on board.
A tow was connected to the vessel and it was returned to its home port of Blyth at about 7am.
