Lib Dem city councillor faces sanctions after 'male appendage' jibe at Labour rival

A Liberal Democrat city councillor could face sanctions after throwing a jibe about 'a male appendage' at a Labour rival called John Thomas.
A standards complaint is to be made about the conduct of Aylestone councillor Nigel Porter for the insult thrown across the Town Hall chamber during a surly and bad tempered meeting on Thursday night.
Coun Porter was debating with City Mayor Peter Soulsby about a development in his ward when Labour veteran Coun Thomas heckled him.
Coun Porter immediately shot back saying: "I won't take any lectures from a man named after a male appendage.'
