Lenton woman fined for trying to sell tiger skin rug
 

A woman trading as 'Mr Muffins Tiny Shop' was caught out when she tried to sell a rare tiger skin rug online.
Dovile Vaitkeviciute, 31, of Trinity Avenue, Lenton, was selling it on an online auction site as a 'Javan' tiger skin rug.
But officers from the Metropolitan Police's Wildlife Crime Unit came across the advert and searched her address at the time - in Mark Road, Haringey - in May 2014.
There then followed a long battle to determine whether the tiger used to make the rug had been killed before or after 1947. To be considered an antique (and therefore sellable without a certificate)... read more
