Leicestershire Police WILL investigate ‘open door’ burglaries – despite report suggesting otherwise



Police have dismissed newspaper reports that officers will not investigate burglaries where the victims had left windows or doors open.
Leicestershire Police spoke out after a number of national titles picked up on a story which appeared last week in a local weekly newspaper.
Assistant Chief Constable Phil Kay was quoted as questioning whether victims who had not locked their windows or doors should expect a full investigation.
