Leicester City victory parade makes tourism awards shortlist



Leicester's historic victory parade to anoint its newly-crowned Premier League football champions is up for a tourism award.
It seems like yesterday when an estimated 250,000 Foxes fans descended on the city centre on May 16 to hail their heroes.
Crowds lined the streets for an open-top bus tour, before the party culminated in Victoria Park and a performance by Leicester rockers, Kasabian.
The awe-inspiring celebration, costing £281,000 and organised by the city and county councils, has been shortlisted for a Leicester and Leicestershire Tourism Award.
