The mum of Lee Irving told a court her vulnerable son had been bullied from an early age due to his disability and she suspects his alleged killers had tried to extort money from him in the past.
Beverley Irving was giving evidence in the trial of four people accused over her 24-year-old son’s death.
James Wheatley and Barry Imray are alleged to have murdered Lee in a “truly shocking” and “merciless” campaign of violence while Julie Mills and Nicole Lawrence are accused of causing or allowing his death and trying to cover it up.
